SSC CGL/CHSL 2025: Is the Photo Upload Dead? (New Live Capture Rules)

Understanding the shift to "Live Photo" capture and what it means for you.

The Update: Live Photo Capture

  • Major Shift: SSC has shifted to a "Live Photo" capture using the 'My SSC' app.
  • Purpose: This measure is intended to curb fraud.
  • Action: You will take a photo using your webcam or phone camera during the application.

The Fallback: When to Upload?

  • Primary Method: Live capture is now the default.
  • Exceptions: Specific departmental exams or older forms still require standard upload.
  • Standard Specs: 3.5x4.5cm, 20-50KB (if upload is required).

The Signature Trap

  • Still Required: Even with Live Photo, you must upload a signature.
  • Strict Limit: The file size limit is extremely low: 10KB to 20KB.
  • Rejection Risk: "Applications with blurred signature will be rejected".
